Eloq

Born in Copenhagen in 1991 as August Fenger Janson, Eloq has developed since the early 2010s a career spanning electronic production, DJing and composition for screen. Active in the Danish scene, he helped found the Cheff Records label in 2011 alongside Kidd, TopGunn and Klumben, producing much of the collective’s early output. In parallel he co-produced MØ’s track “Glass” and released his first EPs—Galactic Neckbreaks EP and Mysterious—in 2011, followed by C’Mon in 2013. His music blends bass music, electronic pop, club sensibilities and often very direct melodic textures, with a taste for shifting rhythms and synthetic arrangements. After appearances on stages such as Roskilde Festival and Distortion in Copenhagen, Eloq broadened his work with the trio AVAVAV, formed with Anders Dixen and Martin Skovbjerg, a project that explores a more collective, live-oriented form of electronic music. Under his own name he released the album Love City in 2019 and the EP All Nite in 2020. His output also extends to soundtracks—most notably Brakland with AVAVAV, and music for the series The Rain, Chosen and season 4 of Borgen—placing him at the intersection of club, pop and cinematic music.
