DZIDZIO
Born in Novoiavorivsk, in western Ukraine, DZIDZIO develops from 2009 around the character created by Mykhailo Khoma, with the support of Andriy Kouzmenko from the Skriabin group and Oleh Turko. The project takes the form of a Ukrainian pop group with a strong emphasis on dance-pop and pop-folk, built on a comic register, an anti-glamour aesthetic, and the regular use of popular speech and surzhyk in the lyrics. DZIDZIO first makes a name online thanks to his monologues and songs such as 'Yalta' and 'Sama-sama', before publishing the album ХА-ХА-ХА in 2012, then DZIDZIO Хіти in 2014 and DZIDZIO SUPER-PUPER in 2018. DZIDZIO's music fuses catchy choruses, danceable rhythms, nods to folklore and humorous narration centered on daily life, relationships, and recurring characters. Over the years the lineup changes around Mykhailo Khoma, who remains at the center of the group, with Oleh Turko's departure in 2016 and then Julik's in 2017. DZIDZIO has also developed a film activity with the films DZIDZIO Контрабас in 2017, DZIDZIO Перший раз in 2018 and Де гроші in 2021, extending on-screen a universe already very present in his songs and clips.
