Gary Gritness

Born in Nancy, Gary Gritness has been developing since the early 2010s a project that sits between electro-funk, boogie, house and electro. His writing is centred on groove, supple basslines, crisp rhythms and synthetic textures that extend both the heritage of funk and the codes of the club. He builds his repertoire with a decisively dance-oriented approach, through his productions and a live show conceived for the dancefloor, where tracks can be reinterpreted and opened up to improvisation. Releases on labels such as Clone, Hypercolour and Casa Voyager map a trajectory within the French and European electronic scenes. Gary Gritness has also performed in varied contexts, from Rex Club to Weather Festival, and at Dimensions Festival and Glastonbury. His aesthetic remains rooted in percussive, nervy electro, threaded with boogie elements and a soulful sensibility, without being limited to a retro register.
