DJEFF

Born in Lisbon in 1984, DJEFF traces a career connected to several spaces of the Lusophone Atlantic, between a Cape Verdean heritage on his father’s side and Angolan on his mother’s side. He began to take an interest in mixing at the end of the 1990s after attending the Bauhaus club’s morning sessions in Estoril, in the Lisbon region, before developing a practice nourished by house, urban African music and exchanges between Europe and Africa. DJEFF evolves this foundation into an aesthetic often associated with Afro house and Afro tech, with productions built around dense percussion, restrained melodic lines and energy conceived for the club. Over the years, DJEFF has established himself on stages linked to international house while maintaining a strong anchor in Lusophone African diasporas. His activity unfolds as a DJ, producer and curator, notably through his Kazukuta Records label, which supports this line between African rhythms, deep house and tighter electronic textures. DJEFF’s trajectory thus reflects a constant circulation between Lisbon, Angola, Cape Verde and the global networks of electronic music.
