Full of Hell
Born in the late 2000s between Ocean City, Maryland and central Pennsylvania, Full of Hell is part of the North American extreme scene, blending grindcore, death metal, hardcore and experimental noise. Formed in 2009 around Dylan Walker and Spencer Hazard, the band developed a dense, very fast and abrasive sound, laced with electronic textures, saturated screams and slower, sludge-adjacent passages. Full of Hell gained notice with the albums Roots of Earth Are Consuming My Home (2011) and Rudiments of Mutilation (2013), before widening their sonic scope through a series of collaborations, notably with Merzbow on Full of Hell & Merzbow (2014) and with The Body on One Day You Will Ache Like I Ache (2016). Their discography continued with Trumpeting Ecstasy (2017), Weeping Choir (2019) and Garden of Burning Apparitions (2021), which further explore a grindcore saturated with noise and dissonant atmospheres. Highly active on DIY stages, club tours and specialized festivals, Full of Hell has over the years established itself at the crossroads of extreme metal, hardcore culture and noise practices, releasing numerous recordings, splits and joint projects, including with shoegaze band Nothing on When No Birds Sang (2023).
