Darktek

Since 2007 Darktek has developed a trajectory rooted in free party and hard-music cultures, with a sonic language that blends upfront energy, pronounced melodic lines and a taste for the offbeat. Darktek initially moves within a spectrum centered on hardtek, hardcore and rawstyle — three aesthetics built on fast tempos, heavy rhythms and continuous tension — before gradually widening his scope to more contrasting formats. In his productions Darktek also lets metal references show through in terms of impact and density, while occasionally exploring more synthetic or airier registers such as synthwave, future bass or lo-fi. This movement between several branches of electronic music shapes a deliberately open project, without breaking from its rave foundation. Present on stages tied to the hardest electronic music as well as in broader contexts, Darktek has over the years established himself as an active name on the French scene, with an identity founded on speed, contrast and a writing that pursues both rhythmic effectiveness and melodic signature.
