Daniel O'Donnell

Born in Kincasslagh, County Donegal, Ireland, Daniel O'Donnell has since the early 1980s developed a repertoire that sits at the crossroads of country, easy listening and Irish folk, in the country and Irish tradition. After singing with his sister Margo's group, he launched his solo career in 1983 with the single 'My Donegal Shore', then formed Country Fever and The Grassroots before making his mark on Irish and British stages. His supple and upfront singing, paired with accessible arrangements, rests on ballads, country standards, sentimental songs and a spiritual repertoire that plays an important role in his discography. Daniel O'Donnell has recorded regularly since the 1980s, with albums such as The Boy from Donegal (1984), Follow Your Dream (1992), Songs of Inspiration (1996), Faith and Inspiration (2000), Daniel in Blue Jeans (2003), Country Boy (2008), Moon Over Ireland (2011), The Hank Williams Songbook (2015), Daniel (2020), 60 (2021) and I Wish You Well (2022). The stage remains central to Daniel O'Donnell's career, as do his occasional collaborations with Mary Duff, notably on Timeless (1996) and Together Again (2007). Also present on television, Daniel O'Donnell has built a lasting career across concerts, recordings and popular programs, mainly in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Australia and North America.
