Dana Winner

Born in Hasselt, Belgium under the name Chantal Vanlee, Dana Winner established herself from the early 1990s in a pop and variété register characterized by a clear voice, melodic ballads, and a repertoire largely performed in Dutch, but also in English and German. After a first notable appearance with « Op het dak van de wereld » in 1990, her trajectory expands in Flanders with titles such as « Woordenloos », « Zeven regenbogen » and « Westenwind », an adaptation of « One Way Wind » by Cats. Dana Winner then develops a career based between Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and South Africa, with a strong emphasis on covers, sentimental songs and orchestrated pop writing, often close to the European mainstream chanson. Her discography includes notably Regenbogen in 1993, Mijn paradijs in 1994, Regen van geluk in 1995, Ergens in mijn hart in 1999, Unforgettable in 2001, Als je lacht in 2006, Tussen nu en morgen in 2008, Bloom in 2014, Puur in 2016, Eerste liefde in 2017 and 30 in 2019. Over the years, Dana Winner alternates studio albums, video-recorded concerts and themed projects, while maintaining a regular presence on stage and on Flemish television, notably with her participation in Liefde voor Muziek in 2016.
