Damage

Damage formed in London in 1995 around Rahsaan Bromfield and Noel Simpson, soon joined by Jade Jones, Andrez Harriott and Coreé Richards. The quintet situated itself in British pop‑R&B, characterized by vocal harmonies, highly melodic choruses and production tied to the 1990s sound. Damage made a name in the UK with singles such as “Love II Love,” “Forever,” “Love Guaranteed” and a cover of “Wonderful Tonight,” before releasing the album Forever in 1997. After the collapse of their first label, they signed to Cooltempo and shifted toward a more contemporary R&B style, sometimes tinged with 2‑step and UK garage, noticeable on tracks like “Ghetto Romance” and “Rumours.” This period culminated in Since You’ve Been Gone in 2001. In 2002 the group attempted a more autonomous, collective stage approach, with members also playing instruments, but ultimately split after Coreé Richards departed. Damage reunited sporadically in 2010 and more regularly from 2012 as a quartet, a revival accompanied by the British show The Big Reunion.
