Da Hool

Under the name Da Hool, Frank Tomiczek from Germany developed a career closely tied to the rise of European rave and techno culture in the early 1990s. Initially active in a techno vein marked by the energy of hardcore, trance and euro-rave, Da Hool established himself with tracks such as "Rave Nation" and "I Want You" before the release of "Meet Her at the Love Parade" in 1997— a track that remained associated with the dance scene of that period. The Da Hool project is defined by a direct compositional approach, based on driving rhythms, repetitive synthetic motifs and a club-ready efficiency that places it both within German popular techno and its house and trance offshoots. Over the years Da Hool has continued producing and playing DJ sets in contexts ranging from clubs to major electronic festivals, evolving his sound toward more contemporary dance music without abandoning his rave roots. The name Da Hool is also linked to several revivals of his repertoire, including a new version of "Meet Her" produced with Tiësto, which extended the circulation of the track beyond its original context.
