Elisabeth Buffet

Coming from a marketing background, Élisabeth Buffet established herself on the French comedy scene from 2005, when she was named “French Comic Revelation” at the Juste pour rire festival in Montreal. The following year, she performed at the Petit Gymnase in Paris before completing two full seasons at the Théâtre de 10 heures in 2007 and 2008, where she cemented her one-woman-show style—between stand-up and life storytelling—marked by direct language and a sharp focus on the body, age, and social relationships. In 2008, she shared the opening gala of Juste pour rire in Nantes with Florence Foresti, then joined the collective show Florence Foresti and Friends at the Théâtre Saint-Denis in Montreal and at the Palais des Sports in Paris. Her show Seule dans sa culotte was staged at the Théâtre de 10 heures in 2010, the same year Élisabeth Buffet hosted La Grande Anthologie de l’humour on Paris Première, before becoming a contributor to On va s’gêner on Europe 1 in 2011. Alongside her subsequent solo shows, including Obsolescence programmée at the Théâtre du Marais in 2019, Élisabeth Buffet acted on stage in Nuit d’ivresse and Coiffure et confidences in 2016, and appeared in the film Nos plus belles vacances by Philippe Lellouche in 2012. Several of her shows were recorded, notably Élisabeth Buffet à la Cigale in 2012 and Nouveau Spectacle at the Alhambra in 2014, extending her presence on the French-language comedy scene.
