Ella Lewis

Based in Paris, Ella Lewis is developing a pop project with jazz nuances driven by intimate writing and a flexible voice, in an aesthetic that blends the format of the contemporary song with a marked taste for standards and muffled harmonies. Franco-Australian, Ella Lewis grows up in a musical family environment, starts piano at six with her father and then continues her training at the conservatory, while practicing choral singing. Writing comes later, around eighteen, alongside deeper work on the voice, which gradually becomes the center of her expression. Her path becomes clearer in 2022 during a stay in Melbourne, Australia, where Ella Lewis immerses herself in an active live scene, composes, collaborates with local and international musicians and performs in different venues around the city. This period helps to structure her artistic approach, between melodic sense, attention to text and sober interpretation. In her tracks, Ella Lewis explores themes related to intimacy and human fragilities, with direct writing, stripped-back arrangements and a balance between acoustic warmth, chamber pop and phrasing influenced by jazz.
