FoxHole
Formed in 2015 and based in Clermont-Ferrand, FoxHole brings together four high school friends whose shared journey initially took the form of direct punk-rock before evolving toward a writing more defined by post-punk and indie rock. The band operates in a DIY environment and in the French alternative scene, with more than 150 gigs across the country, gradually anchoring FoxHole in a circuit of venues, music-bars and independent events. Its aesthetics blend rhythmic tension, angular guitars, dark melodies and more open choruses, in a balance between the energy of punk and a sensibility inherited from British post-punk. References often associated with FoxHole range from The Clash, The Jam, Joy Division, The Cure or Les Thugs to newer groups like Fontaines D.C. or IDLES, though the band is not formally limited to them. Clermont-Ferrand plays an important role in FoxHole's identity, with songs partly drawing on an urban, tense and melancholic atmosphere, carried by lyrics guided by a direct and disillusioned vision.
