Aske Jacoby

Born in Copenhagen in 1963, since the late 1970s Aske Jacoby has developed a career anchored in the Danish scene, between rock, pop, songwriting and instrumental music. Guitarist, singer, composer and producer, he took part very early in the formation of News, then joined Danseorkestret in the mid-1980s, while also working as a studio musician and accompanist for many Danish artists. His personal work leans toward a more introspective writing, where the guitar holds a central place in formats that mix folk-rock, adult pop, acoustic textures and climates sometimes close to jazz or Americana. Solo, Aske Jacoby notably releases Not Only For The Royalties in 1991, Transfer Power in 2004, Chant in 2014, Luna Plena Super Me in 2016 and A’s As Is in 2019, as well as the live records Clubbing in 1997 and Live in Paris in 2017. He also records Three At Last! in 2011 with the Aske Jacoby Trio and composes, with Jeppe Kaas, the music for the Sommerdahl series, released in 2021. Parallel to his performing activity, Aske Jacoby produces records, teaches music and runs the labels Giant Birch and Little Sprout.
