Eddie Halliwell

Originally from Wigan in northwest England, Eddie Halliwell emerged on the British club scene around the turn of the 2000s after beginning his career as a bedroom DJ. His approach is defined by fast mixing, very precise transitions and a pronounced use of scratching — relatively uncommon in trance and hard house. His repertoire spans hard house, trance, techno and house, with a direct, energetic aesthetic geared toward the dancefloor. Halliwell made his name on the UK circuit and then in Ibiza, where he held a residency at Judgement Sundays from 2001 before joining Cream at Amnesia — two notable landmarks of the club culture of the time. He also appeared regularly on BBC Radio 1 between 2005 and 2008, notably in The Residency, and made several appearances on the Essential Mix. In terms of releases, he has issued several mixed compilations that document his style well, including Bosh! (2002), Next Level Bosh! (2003), Cream Ibiza (2006 and 2010), Fire It Up (2008) and Toolroom Knights (2012). From 2011 he expanded his production work with the single "Neon" and the launch of the FIUR label, alongside his show Fire It Up, broadcast on radio and as a podcast.
