The Wizards of Winter

Born in 2009 in the region between New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, The Wizards of Winter develops an original Christmas music repertoire, traversed by progressive rock, symphonic elements and touches of melodic metal. Founded by Scott Kelly and Sharon Kelly, the ensemble initially structured itself around year-end concerts before writing its own material, with Tales Beneath a Northern Star in 2011, followed by The Wizards of Winter in 2014, The Magic of Winter in 2015 and The Christmas Dream in 2019. The lineup operates as a variable-geometry collective, blending keyboards, guitars, drums, vocals, flute, violin and narration, in an aesthetic that unites winter themes, orchestral arrangements, rock riffs and instrumental passages inspired by progressive. The story of The Wizards of Winter regularly intersects with that of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, of which several former members have participated in the project or joined its tours, which sheds light on its taste for narrative formats and seasonal shows. Active mainly on North American stages during the holiday season, The Wizards of Winter also released the live album The Wizards of Winter Live Volume I & Volume II in 2024.
