Stefan Mross
Born in Traunstein, in Upper Bavaria, Stefan Mross has established himself in the German-speaking world at the crossroads of Volksmusik, schlager and television variety. Initially noticed at a very young age as a trumpeter, he appeared at the end of the 1980s and won in 1989 the Grand Prix der Volksmusik with Heimwehmelodie, the starting point of a career built around an Alpine popular repertoire, sentimental melodies, and an interpretation that blends singing and trumpet. Over the years, Stefan Mross expanded his activity to singing, both solo and in duets, notably with Stefanie Hertel, with whom he released several records in the 1990s, among them Weihnachten mit dir (1994), Ein Lied für jeden Sonnenstrahl (1995) and Herz an Herz (1999). His discography also includes Heimwehmelodie (1989), Sehnsuchtsmelodie (1994), Zauber der Trompete (1996), Trompetenzauber (2002), Immer wieder Stefan (2006), Greif zu (2011), Meine beste Zeit (2013) and Stark wie zwei (2020), recorded with Anna-Carina Woitschack. Present on the stages of popular festivals, galas and musical shows, Stefan Mross also holds a lasting place on German television by hosting for many years the show Immer wieder sonntags, which reinforced his roots in the world of entertainment and German-speaking popular music.
