Hawklords
Born in the United Kingdom in the broad wake of Hawkwind, Hawklords takes shape from 2008 around former musicians linked to this space rock scene, first assembled for tribute concerts before becoming a full-fledged band. While the name harks back to the Hawklords episode of 1978, this contemporary version forges its own path, between space rock, psychedelic rock and progressive hard rock, with a marked taste for direct riffs, cosmic moods, spoken passages and writing often oriented towards science fiction, social critique and futuristic imaginaries. After an initial phase focused on the scene and a repertoire partly inherited from the Hawkwind universe, Hawklords records original compositions and releases We Are One in 2012, followed by Dream in 2013, Censored in 2014 and R:Evolution in 2015. The band continues with Fusion in 2016, Six in 2017, Brave New World in 2018, Heaven’s Gate in 2019, Time in 2021, Space in 2023, then Relativity in 2024 and Faith in 2025. Over the years Hawklords experiences several lineup changes around a core led notably by Jerry Richards and Dave Pearce, and frequents the rock, prog and psych scenes in Britain and Europe, in a format where the energy of live rock remains central.
