Decade

Formed in Bath, England in 2009, Decade is rooted in British alternative rock with a mix of pop-punk and pop rock, alternating direct guitars, melodic choruses and more restrained passages. The band began under the name Ready Set Low before adopting the name Decade in 2011, at the time of the release of the Lost at Sea EP. The lineup, centered around Alex Sears, Joe Marriner, Connor Fathers and Harry Norton, quickly established a foothold on the British live circuit by touring and playing festivals, notably around Slam Dunk. After a self-titled EP released in 2013, Decade released Good Luck in 2014 on Spinefarm Records, then continued on rock and alternative stages alongside bands like Saves the Day, Mayday Parade, The Used or Deaf Havana. After a quieter period, Decade returned with Pleasantries in 2017 on Rude Records, a second album where the writing preserves its pop-punk base while allowing more room for nuanced textures and a more introspective approach. The band remained active until 2018, with its last shows that year, in a trajectory marked by exchanges between emo, melodic rock and contemporary punk rock.
