Hundred Year Old Man

Based in Leeds, United Kingdom, Hundred Year Old Man has been evolving since the mid-2010s in a post-metal register nourished by sludge, post-hardcore and more stretched atmospheric passages. Formed as a six-piece, the band builds long tracks where slow tensions, massive detonations, multiple screamed vocals and ambient textures alternate, with occasional use of electronic elements that broaden the palette without altering its heavy, abrasive grounding. After a first self-titled EP released in 2016, Hundred Year Old Man developed its language on the album Breaching (2020), then Sleep in Light (2024), affirming a writing that is both dense, progressive and physical. The music of Hundred Year Old Man moves between thick riffs, contrasting dynamics and narrative constructions that make room for both saturation and breaths. Present on the British and European heavy scene, the band has also been noticed for performances where the intensity of playing, the movement between stage and audience, and the work on immersion prolong directly the tensions of its tracks.
