Asymmetric Universe
Born in Italy around the brothers Federico Vese and Nicolò Vese, Asymmetric Universe has since 2018 developed an instrumental project at the crossroads of progressive rock, progressive metal, fusion, avant-garde jazz and ambient, with a strong emphasis on orchestral writing. The duo builds dense yet readable music, based on dynamic shifts, a marked taste for complex rhythmic architectures and more aerial passages that widen the framework of instrumental prog metal. Asymmetric Universe released in 2019 its first EP, When Reality Disarticulates, self-produced, and then continued in the same logic of composition and production with The Sun Would Disappear As I Imagined All The Stars, released in 2023 after being completed in 2022. This release accompanies increased visibility on the European progressive scene, notably with a tour as the opening act for Ne Obliviscaris and Persefone during the Exul EU/UK Tour in spring 2023. In 2024, Asymmetric Universe joined InsideOutMusic, before the release of its first album, A Memory And What Came After, announced for 2025. Through these steps, Asymmetric Universe refines an identity that links instrumental virtuosity, contemporary writing and melodic tension without limiting itself to the codes of a single genre.
