SCAM

Born in Reykjavik, SCAM brings together the Icelandic composers and producers Herdís Stefánsdóttir and Salka Valsdóttir around a high-intensity electro-pop project, traversed by techno, gabber, metal and cinematically scaled arrangements. The duo formed after their meeting in a small room in the Icelandic capital, while Herdís Stefánsdóttir, also trained in classical music and active in film music composition, discovered Salka Valsdóttir’s work on stage. A remote musical correspondence then began between the two artists, consisting of exchanges of ideas and tracks, before taking shape as SCAM. SCAM's music articulates frontal pulsation, dense textures and melodic writing, in a balance between electronic tension, rhythmic impact, and a sense of sonic dramaturgy. SCAM presented its first live performance at Iceland Airwaves in 2024, a performance that quickly circulated the duo's name on the Reykjavik local scene and then led to a booking at Roskilde Festival. The track ‘Mentally Gone’, released in 2025, provides a first discographic reference for this still-young project, whose aesthetics combine abrasive energy, pop construction and orchestral scope.
