Lemon D
Active since the early 1990s, Lemon D, real name Kevin King, hails from Brixton in south London, and has established himself in the British jungle scene and then drum and bass through productions focused on massive bass, nervy rhythms, and an approach drawn from the sound system culture. Close to Dillinja over the years, Lemon D developed with him a significant body of work at Valve Recordings, a label associated with a vision of drum and bass geared toward club power, and the two were also linked to Valve Sound System, designed specifically for this scene. His trajectory traverses different phases of the genre's evolution, from 1990s jungle to a more upfront and physical drum and bass, without breaking with an aesthetic deeply anchored in bass frequencies and rhythmic impact. Among his identifiable releases are Big Bad Bass and The Killa-Hertz with Dillinja, the latter in collaboration with Dillinja. Lemon D also circulated in international DJ circuits tied to British electronic music, with a repertoire oriented toward club formats and the drum and bass scenes.
