Margaux & Martin

Based in France, Margaux & Martin are developing a Francophone song project centered on writing, stage performance, and a form of complicity that structures their artistic identity. Initially conceived as a duo around two voices and piano, Margaux & Martin align with a tradition of lyric-driven chanson where everyday narratives, romantic relationships, and the gaze upon the world occupy a central place. Their journey has been built on stage, with a substantial number of dates over a few years, in varied contexts ranging from festivals and venues dedicated to chanson to opening acts and shared platforms with artists linked to the Francophone repertoire. Their trajectory notably mentions an opening act for Pierre Perret, performances with France Brel and Isabelle Aubret, as well as an invitation from Lynda Lemay and a tour in Quebec. Over time, Margaux & Martin have evolved the project's form by expanding the initial duo into a more collective configuration, first as a quintet and then as an octet, in order to transform the arrangement of the songs and their staging. This evolution preserves the core of their work, based on narrative songs, direct interpretation, and a stage aesthetic that blends light theatre, intimacy, and ensemble energy.
