Alex Toucourt

Alex Toucourt has, from France, developed a career as a singer-songwriter nourished by the guitar, the instrument he has played since childhood before widening his playing to other instruments. His universe lies at the crossroads of French chanson, pop and folk, with writing focused on melody, acoustic arrangements and regular attention to the lyrics. Alex Toucourt released studiOrange in 2010, his first album establishing the foundations of a sober and melodic repertoire, followed by Mémoire d'Éléphant Rose in 2013, where the writing grows denser and the atmospheres more defined. With Le Fruit du Bazar, he continues this evolution toward a more constructed pop-folk, working layers of arrangements that are more present without losing the song format. His trajectory remains that of an independent musician, between composition, singing and multi-instrumental playing, in an aesthetic that is accessible but precise. More recently, Alex Toucourt presented TOBOGGAN, his fourth album, built around songs where pop, folk, spoken word, light rap and slam inflections intersect, always in an acoustic and narrative frame. Alex Toucourt thus continues a writing practice in which daily life observation, discreet melancholy and a direct tone occupy a central place.
