L'Orchidée Cosmique

From Chambéry, L'Orchidée Cosmique has been developing solo since the end of 2015 an instrumental project at the crossroads of noise, ambient and post-metal, built around bass, synths, loops and a programmed drum kit. Behind L'Orchidée Cosmique, Flo shapes a dense and contrasted sound, where saturated and massive riffs sit alongside airier layers, drones and passages of atmospheric stretching. This vocal-free writing plays with tension variations, between a slow build, noise abrasion and more contemplative passages, with an aesthetic that links heavygaze, experimental music and certain forms of instrumental rock. The project first established itself on stage, with more than 150 concerts in France but also in Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic and Canada. L'Orchidée Cosmique has also conducted residencies at Brise Glace in Annecy as well as Brin de Zinc in Chambéry, in the continuity of work conceived as a live experience as much as a discography. The course of L'Orchidée Cosmique thus sits within an independent scene where saturation, textures and the search for sonic space meet.
