The Devin Cuddy Band

Based in Toronto, Devin Cuddy, together with The Devin Cuddy Band, develops a repertoire situated between roots rock, country, folk-rock, and rhythm and blues, carried by a singer-songwriter sensibility and a piano style shaped by his jazz training at York University. Initially active solo at the piano in local venues, notably the Cameron House, Cuddy later expands his format into a band and enters a wider Canadian circuit, with notable appearances opening for Blue Rodeo. Son of Jim Cuddy, he has nonetheless built a distinct path, nourished by references ranging from Randy Newman to Dr. John, with a taste for flexible arrangements, narrative melodies, and an approach that blends American rock, bar-country, and roots piano accents. The discography of The Devin Cuddy Band includes Volume One (2012), Kitchen Knife (2016), Amy’s Song EP (2018), and Dear Jane (2023). Through these releases, The Devin Cuddy Band has evolved a band format centered on the song, where the folk-country heritage intersects with touches of swing, blues, and classic rock in a direct, unpretentious ensemble.
