DAAB

Formed in Warsaw in 1982 around the student club Riviera-Remont, Daab established itself on the Polish scene with reggae tinged with dub, rock and new wave, carried by clear melodic lines and often introspective writing. The group initially formed around Dariusz Gierszewski, Andrzej Zeńczewski, Artur Miłoszewski and Piotr Strojnowski, before undergoing several lineup changes that accompanied its evolution throughout the 1980s. After a first single in 1984, Daab released the album Daab in 1986, followed by Ludzkie uczucia in 1987 and Daab III in 1989; a new version of Daab III appeared in 1992. In this journey, Daab also crossed paths with musicians linked to other Polish outfits such as T.Love, De Mono, Kult or Armia, illuminating the band's place in a rock and reggae scene that was reconfiguring at the time. Its repertoire, marked by tracks such as 'Ogrodu serce', 'Kalejdoskop moich dróg' or 'Fala ludzkich serc', fuses reggae pulsation, airy arrangements and psychedelic touches. Active with interruptions, Daab continued to perform live in the following decades, notably at festivals in Poland, sustaining the circulation of this repertoire beyond its founding period.
