Fred Nardin
Born in Saint-Rémy in Saône-et-Loire in 1987, Fred Nardin trained at an early age between classical music and jazz before continuing his studies at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris. Pianist, organist, arranger and composer, Fred Nardin develops a language anchored in swing and bebop, with a clear, agile and melodic playing style, also nourished by references drawn from French writing. His trajectory gained traction in the early 2010s with the co-founding of the Amazing Keystone Big Band, an 18‑member collective that revisits both the jazz repertoire and programs aimed at young audiences. In parallel, Nardin pursues a more intimate trio work, notably with bassist Or Bareket and drummer Leon Parker, a formation heard on Opening (2017), Look Ahead (2019) and Live in Paris (2022). Active on the French and European jazz scene, he also plays alongside Stefano Di Battista, with whom he supports several projects as pianist, arranger and artistic director, and regularly appears in contexts ranging from quartet to big band. Nardin has also signed arrangements and musical directions for other artists, while continuing a composing career for image and teaching.
