Dave Kelly

Born in 1947 in England, Dave Kelly enters the history of British blues that emerged in the 1960s, with guitar and slide playing directly fed by the rural forms of American blues. A singer, guitarist and composer, Dave Kelly develops a sober style, centered on acoustic and electric blues, bottleneck, and a vocal approach marked by Delta traditions. His career first passes through the John Dummer Blues Band, then Tramp, before taking a lasting place within The Blues Band, a group active on the British rhythm and blues scene from the late 1970s. Dave Kelly also leads his own projects, solo or with the Dave Kelly Band, while remaining connected to a circuit of concerts, clubs and festivals devoted to blues in Europe.
