Roberta Lips
Born from a friendship between Lucia Miguel, Tiphaine Robert, Lisa Thepault and Elise Hana, Roberta Lips brings together a quartet that moves in a direct format, between guitars, bass, drums and keyboards with retro tinges. The group sings in French and Spanish, and builds a repertoire of abrasive pop where garage energy, punk tension and immediate melodies cross paths. Behind this intentionally spontaneous writing, Roberta Lips works a raw and tight sound, carried by dry rhythms, short choruses and a vintage color that recalls as much 70s garage rock as riot grrrl and a certain Spanish indie pop from the 90s. These references give Roberta Lips an aesthetic that is both frontal and light, without overload, where shared vocals play a central role. Their first EP, En plein cœur, marks the emergence of the project with this concise and nervous formula, designed for both the stage and the recording. Through this first release, Roberta Lips lays the foundations of a universe that favors collective momentum, the vitality of the songs and a simple but precise approach to songwriting.
