Christina Goh

Born in Paris in 1977 to an Ivorian father and a Martiniquais mother, Christina Goh grows up in Côte d’Ivoire before pursuing part of her career between France and Martinique, where she settles in the mid-2000s. Her work sits at the crossroads of French chanson, blues, jazz, and an Afro-Caribbean sensibility, with writing marked by poetry and a stage approach often developed in a trio. After her first album, Tranquille (2003), Christina Goh releases the single Métissée chocolat (2007) and then the EP Eveil (2008), followed by 3 Emotions (2009). In 2010 the album Christina Goh Concept appears, a project that highlights a form of chanson-blues open to African rhythms, before Fusion (2012) and the EP Invisible (2014). Christina Goh also pursues poetry, publishing several volumes, which sheds light on the central place of text in her repertoire. On stage, her universe favors compact formats and a sober interpretation, between lyric-driven song, blues accents, and jazz inflections. In 2015, she releases 14 Melodies (Live at Le Petit Faucheux France), a testament to a career also shaped by live performance.
