Remei de Ca la Fresca

Born in Catalonia, Remei de Ca la Fresca develops a Catalan-sung rock that blends electric tension, declamation, folklore and lo-fi electronic touches, with writing anchored in rural and social imagery. The band operates as a quartet whose members often change instruments on stage, fueling a mobile collective playing between guitars, bass, drums, keyboards and spoken or sung vocals. Spotted among the finalists of the Sona9 contest in 2021, Remei de Ca la Fresca published in the same year a first self-titled album, then broadened its language in live performance and through several reinterpretations, including 'Nascut descarat', an adaptation of 'Born Slippy', and 'Tot el que volem és okupar-te el xalet', from 'Paper Planes'. Their repertoire combines nervous rhythms, recitations, tone ruptures and rougher melodies, in a form that borrows as much from indie rock as from certain Catalan folk traditions. In 2024, Remei de Ca la Fresca released 'Mal de muntanya', the first single from L’ham de la pregunta, an album released in the same year and produced by Ildefons Alonso. This trajectory sits within the Catalan alternative scenes, where Remei de Ca la Fresca circulates music that is both abrasive, collective and deeply attached to the language.
