Yannick Jacquet

Born in Geneva in 1980 and based in Brussels since 2005, Yannick Jacquet develops a practice at the crossroads of visual art, video and scenography. Initially active in VJing in the early 2000s under the name Legoman, Jacquet quickly directs his work toward projection in space, audiovisual installations and interventions on architecture. He is among the founders of AntiVJ, a collective that emerged in the late 2000s with Joanie Lemercier, Olivier Ratsi and Romain Tardy, in a context where video mapping moved from clubs to urban space and exhibition venues. His career includes projects such as 3Destruct, created in 2007 with Jérémie Peeters and Thomas Vaquié, followed by Paleodictyon in 2012 with Simon Geilfus and Thomas Vaquié. From 2011, Jacquet led the project Mécaniques discursives with Belgian engraver Frédéric Penelle, a set of installations mixing wood engraving, objects, structures, light, video and sound environment, presented notably in Brussels and at Le Botanique between 2024 and 2025. In parallel, Jacquet also creates stage works, such as the scenography and video for Tokyo no oto by Jérôme Combier in 2022. His work articulates moving images, space perception and visual composition, in forms that belong as much to installation as to scenic writing.
