Caïman
Based in Lyon, Caïman develops a universe that sits between folk-rock, dream pop and gothic undertones, powered by French-language writing and electric guitar work with dense, shifting textures. Their aesthetics blend intimate narratives, fantastical imagery and metamorphosis motifs, in songs where melodic softness sits beside moodier, nocturnal atmospheres. Caïman has made a name for itself on stage through numerous formats of concerts and festivals, notably Musilac, refining a presence that rests as much on storytelling as on sonic tension. A first album, À la lueur, appeared in 2021 on Le Cri du Charbon, laying the foundations of a repertoire traversed by indie influences, foggy harmonies and a rock sensibility without pomp. The rest of its professional journey extends this direction with an independent and self-produced approach, nourished by attention to collective imaginaries, memory and solidarity. Caïman thus continues a singular trajectory in which songs take the form of passages between raw energy, daydream and chiaroscuro.
