Sviatibor
Based in Albi, Sviatibor has since 2013 been developing a project of pagan atmospheric metal nourished by atmospheric black metal, symphonic textures and contemplative atmospheres. Initially carried solo by Thomas Hornstein, Sviatibor builds during its early years an abundant discography published notably with Deivlforst Records, Endless Decrepitude Productions and SoundAge Productions, with work focused on the themes of paganism, nature, ancient spirituality and the life and death cycles. In 2019, the project takes a new shape with the arrival of drummer Léo Appaix, who evolves Sviatibor into a duo and accompanies its passage to the stage. This period also coincides with the release of the album Secrets of the Land, released in 2019 by Flowing Downward. The music of Sviatibor rests on a balance between massive riffs, often stretched tempos, orchestral swells and electronic passages, in an aesthetic that favors immersion and progression over immediate impact. After several years of stage preparation, Sviatibor gave a first series of concerts between 2022 and 2024 and continued this development with the EP Primal Flame Inheritance. Thus Sviatibor's journey sits within a French metal scene attached to atmospheric forms and thematically built universes over time.
