Passion Parade
Formed by sisters Megan and Charlie Simpson, Passion Parade sits in an alt-indie vein where indie pop, tight vocal harmonies, and writing focused on human relationships, the female experience, and coming of age in a music environment felt from the inside intersect. The duo develops an aesthetic that is both melodic and theatrical, driven by understated arrangements that give considerable space to the voices and the emotional tension of the tracks. Passion Parade began to attract attention on the British scene with shows in London, notably within the School Night Sessions, and through a live presence built around the complementarity of the two musicians. The track Pretty (But Not Supposed To Be Here) contributed to this emergence by benefiting from airplay on Radio X, while the duo also supported The K’s on a tour in the United Kingdom. Through this early phase, Passion Parade is shaping a developing indie-pop project, rooted in personal writing and a duo format that relies as much on contrast as on the fusion of voices.
