Born in France and bound by her origins to Côte d’Ivoire, wordsofAzia develops a universe at the crossroads of soul, jazz and traditional Bété rhythms, which she gathers in a personal writing focused on questions of heritage and identity. The project emerges in 2024 with a series of singles published on platforms, accompanied by visuals that contribute to its overall aesthetics. WordsofAzia's music rests on flexible vocal melodies, hushed atmospheres and a rhythmic approach that makes contemporary forms dialogue with references drawn from Bété culture. This approach gives her tracks a hybrid color, between song, alternative soul and Afro-jazz influences, without limiting to a single format. In 2025, wordsofAzia releases the EP Modern Wihegou, published in July, which extends this direction by articulating familial memory, cultural belonging and sonic research. Still recent, the trajectory of wordsofAzia is set in a scene where circulations between diasporas, traditions and contemporary music occupy a central place.
