EllSide

Formed in Paris around Pierre on vocals and rhythm guitar, and Shake on guitar, linked since 2012, EllSide took its band shape from 2018 with the arrival of Matthis on bass, then Nicolo on drums and Greg on rhythm guitar and backing vocals. The project evolves in a register of rock and modern metal, with melodic writing, dense guitars and a narrative approach that blends tension, more airy passages and direct choruses. EllSide develops its identity around Run Away, a concept album built of 12 tracks and 6 chapters, conceived as a story deployed over a year around the character Light, in an introspective vein nourished by imagery of chiaroscuro and a reference to Dante’s universe. This first release marks an important milestone in the Parisian band’s journey, which sits within an expanding collective dynamic over the years and entrusted the album’s production to Fred Duquesne, also associated with projects such as Mass Hysteria, Ultra Vomit and Tagada Jones. EllSide thus articulates a proposition where the conceptual dimension accompanies a sound that is both frontal and worked, between alternative metal, contemporary rock and post-hardcore influences.
