Dallas Alexander

Born in Alberta and raised at Fishing Lake Métis Settlement, Dallas Alexander situates his music within a singer‑songwriter country tradition marked by personal storytelling, Canadian rural landscapes, and his Métis heritage. He served more than sixteen years in the Canadian Armed Forces, including a period with the JTF2 special operations unit as a sniper, before turning to music and public speaking. That path informs songs focused on resilience, mental health, transitional periods and a sense of community, written in a direct style that emphasizes narrative and lived experience. His approach draws on classic country as well as more contemporary strands, producing a restrained sound rooted in North American tradition while maintaining a current sensibility. Alongside his musical work, Dallas Alexander also speaks on leadership, adaptation and cultural identity—topics that naturally extend the themes of his songwriting.
