Maximilian Tanner
Born in 1998 in Essex, England, Maximilian Tanner develops an independent synth-pop sound with new wave and indie-pop inflections, driven by nocturnal melodies, restrained electronic textures and straightforward songwriting. He handles the writing, production, release of his tracks and the organization of his concerts himself, working entirely autonomously. After living in Sheffield from 2017, he settled in Frinton-on-Sea to work on new material in a more secluded setting. Before this solo project, Maximilian Tanner spent about ten years as the singer of BlackWaters, an experience that places his trajectory between indie rock and more synthetic formats. His solo live debut begins in June 2025, with an initial series of concerts taking him across Europe as support for John Maus, followed by a date alongside TTSSFU in Manchester. Maximilian Tanner also appears on the British independent festival circuit, notably via a selection for the Float Along Festival, in a career that is still recent but already shaped by the live scene.
