Aicher

Based in Berlin, Australian musician Liam Andrews develops Aicher as a solo project born out of his work with My Disco and Eros. Aicher sits at the intersection of industrial, experimental and a dark, rhythm-focused electronic sound, with insistent percussion, metallic textures, heavy low-end masses and a tension that unfolds over time. The project adopts certain traits from the noise, post‑punk and experimental scenes Andrews frequented, but in a more concentrated, abstract and confrontational format. In Aicher, pieces move forward through repetition, minimal variation and progressive densification, without chasing immediate impact. This approach yields music that is physical, opaque and hypnotic, where the mechanical pulse is as much about endurance as it is about building pressure. Rooted in the Berlin context while retaining ties to his Australian background, Aicher draws a coherent line between industrial heritage and current forms of experimental music.
