Lucas Andrea is part of the French alternative song scene, with a writing style that blends variété, new wave and shoegaze and a deliberately strange sensitivity, often described as “beautifully strange.” Lucas Andrea develops a project at the intersection of several practices, where music converses with writing and visual arts in a coherent approach from one medium to another. Presented as a chansonnier, he pushes the French chanson toward mistier, more textured forms without leaving the realm of lyrics and melody. Supported by the label La Souterraine, Lucas Andrea began to emerge with a series of singles ahead of the release of his first album, Une peau d’Apocalypso, which came out in 2024. His aesthetic relies on contrasts between pop lyricism, dark atmospheres, diffuse guitars and intimate narrative forms. Alongside his musical work, Lucas Andrea pursues a visual-art practice focused on human transformations and their relationship to the environment — a strand that extends the themes audible in his songs.
