Dr Vades

Hailing from East London, Dr Vades brought together brothers Kane Busia and Jay Busia — also known as Dr Kane and Jay Vades — to form a producer duo at the end of 2014 after pursuing separate paths. Dr Vades operates at the intersection of R&B, pop, hip‑hop, electronic music and afrobeats influences, crafting tracks around clear melodic lines, danceable rhythms and a balance between urban formats and club effectiveness. Raised in a music‑steeped family environment, the duo initially developed behind the scenes, delivering productions for artists from the British, Caribbean and North American scenes such as Stormzy, RAYE, Mr Eazi, Popcaan, Beenie Man, Tory Lanez and Bryson Tiller. That production work shaped Dr Vades’ identity, whose aesthetic blends accessible choruses, supple electronic textures and touches drawn from dancehall and contemporary Afro music.
