Kamil Rustam
Born in Amsterdam and established in Paris from a young age, Kamil Rustam built a career as a guitarist, composer, arranger, and producer spanning pop, jazz fusion, and music for film. Active since the late 1970s, he first worked in French studios during the 1980s and 1990s, where his versatility led him to work as a session musician, arranger, and later producer for chanson and pop. In 1984, Kamil Rustam produced Patrick Bruel’s first single, and went on to collaborate with artists such as Michel Jonasz, Patricia Kaas and Florent Pagny. Between 1985 and 1988 he was a member of the group Preface alongside Manu Katché and Jean‑Yves d’Angelo. Based in Los Angeles from 1996, he developed a career split between American productions, studio recordings and film music. His album Cosmopolitain, released in 2017, gathers instrumental compositions that blend contemporary jazz, pop groove, funk and touches of world music. Since 2021, Kamil Rustam has also been part of the orchestra on The Voice in France, while continuing work on stages, television and in the studio.
