Adult Cat
Formed in Dorset by three brothers, Adult Cat develops songwriting at the intersection of alt-country, punk and garage rock, with direct, nervy and melodic songs. The trio positions its music between the energy of British rock and a more roots-minded taste for American country, in an aesthetic that recalls both The Libertines and the legacy of Gram Parsons. Adult Cat emerged with a self-produced debut EP that reflects on youth and the transition to adulthood in pandemic-era England — between boredom, virtual spaces and a sense of everyday grey. This thematic foundation fuels tense yet accessible songs, where rough guitars, forward vocals and a strong sense of narrative coexist without excess. Both live and on record, Adult Cat operates in a tight format that highlights the band’s fraternal dynamic and its grounding in an English independent scene that blends abrasive rock with American-style songwriting.
