Kier

Based in Yorkshire, KIER has been developing a solo project since late 2022 that crosses country alternative, Americana, indie pop and rock in a direct, melodic songwriting format. His world combines guitars rooted in the American tradition with a more contemporary writing style, featuring pop choruses, an indie sensibility and a way of moving from an intimate register to broader arrangements without changing course. KIER first gained attention on the live scene in northern England, with shows at the Leadmill in Sheffield, the Holmfirth Picturedrome and an appearance on the main stage of the Tramlines festival — touchpoints that place his development within a circuit mixing independent venues and well-established regional events. Broadcast on BBC Radio, CountryLine Radio and stations around Nashville, KIER thus positions his trajectory between British grounding and American references. KIER now continues this work independently, in a format where the song remains central, balancing narrative, measured rock energy and deliberate country accents.
