Maud Paquis

Born in Sarnen and raised between Lausanne and Renens, Maud Paquis initially focused on piano before expanding her practice to writing, singing and composing. A Franco‑Swiss artist, she works at the intersection of jazz, pop and French chanson, with a marked taste for clear melodies, French‑language lyrics and arrangements that remain close to contemporary jazz. Her career took shape in the early 2020s, notably after an early spotlight on the Lausanne stage as part of the Proxima project at the Docks; that period produced the EP Morphée (2022). Trained at the Conservatoire de Lausanne and later at EJMA and the Haute école des arts de Berne, Paquis then moved more decisively toward jazz and developed a band project around her compositions with musicians from the Swiss scene. Since then she has performed at numerous Swiss events, including the Cully Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Festival da Jazz St. Moritz and the Langnau Jazz Nights, while also appearing on stages more closely linked to contemporary music in Romandy. Her first album, Circé, was released in 2025.
