e.m.arson
Under the alias e.m.arson, a solo project at the crossroads of outsider music, improvisation and noise develops an instinctive, raw sonic language deliberately resistant to established formats. e.m.arson describes their pieces as “sound notebooks” — assemblages of ideas, textures and emotional impulses where tension, fragility and brighter breakthroughs coexist. The name e.m.arson points to the artist’s fluid approach to genre as well as the dialogue between the macabre and clarity that runs through the music. The project emerges with a first demo LP built around love, resistance and identity, set against a bargain with the devil and its moral consequences. For e.m.arson, improvisation is not a stylistic effect but a method: open forms, strong contrasts and significant space for motif transformation. e.m.arson’s world also draws on stories of women long silenced and on the history of Norfolk — from witch trials to contemporary power relations — to create expressive noise threaded with narrative fragments, prose and a constant pursuit of metamorphosis and rebirth.
