Acid Reign
Formed in Harrogate, Yorkshire, England, Acid Reign emerged in the mid‑1980s as part of the British thrash metal wave with a fast, tense and direct sound, driven by sharp riffs and an energy strongly shaped by the metal scene of the time. After the demo Moshkinstein in 1987 and the eponymous EP in 1988, Acid Reign signed to the Under One Flag label and made a name for themselves on British and European stages, notably touring with Nuclear Assault, Exodus and Dark Angel. Their debut album, The Fear, was released in 1989, followed by Obnoxious in 1990, before the band split in 1991. Activity resumed in 2015 around singer Howard “H” Smith, the only member of the original lineup present in this new period. Acid Reign released the single Plan of the Damned in 2015 and returned with the full‑length The Age of Entitlement in 2019. Between classic thrash metal, more nervous attacks and hooks close to crossover, Acid Reign has since continued its course with a renewed line‑up and a clear grounding in British metal.
